Bystronic at IMTS 2004

At IMTS, Bystronic to introduce new laser, waterjet, press brake and software technologies that increase flexibility, reduce material waste and lower operating costs.

Hauppauge (NY), August 12, 2004

At this year’s IMTS, booth #B-6811, Bystronic will introduce the Byspeed 5200 ARC laser cutting system, the Byjet 3015 waterjet cutting system with shuttle table and material handling, the PR Series press brake with IPC technology and Bysoft Software 6.5 with integrated Bybend module.

The Byspeed 5200 ARC laser cutting system features innovative Adaptive Radius Control technology (ARC) which provides a marked time-savings of 30% in part manufacturing. With a consistent, high output power of 5200 watts, users are guaranteed optimal piercing and cutting performance and cut quality. Higher overall processing efficiency makes it possible to operate the laser cutting system with exceptionally low production costs, ensuring an excellent price-to-performance ratio. ARC provides automatic optimization of the beam diameter for all sheet metal thicknesses and materials. Appropriate materials include steel up to 25mm, stainless steel up to 20mm and aluminum up to 12mm.

Also shown will be the revolutionary waterjet cutting system, Byjet 3015, with optional shuttle table and material handling capabilities for “lights out” manufacturing. A new HPT (high-precision tool) cutting head delivers exceptional precision as well as an optimal flow of abrasive for increased efficiency and enhanced cutting performance. The system’s unique, optional rotary-axis provides exceptional processing flexibility by opening multiple fields of tube cutting applications.

Bystronic will showcase an 8 axis PR Series press brake system with Integrated Process Control (IPC) technology. An enhancement of Pressure Reference technology, IPC provides faster and more precise springback compensation and thickness measurement for the processing of an even wider range of materials and material thicknesses. This technology maintains high control over the variables that affect bending performance and accuracy. Dynamic crowning, side-frame deflection compensation, pressure regulation, temperature compensation and tool overload protection are all advantages of the Pressure Reference system. With springback compensation, a feature standard on all Series models, users have an exclusive, time-saving technology that effectively eliminates test bending, checking, adjusting and re-bending.

From CAD file to finished part, Bysoft 6.5 software offers advanced integration of your press brake, laser and waterjet processes. Bybend, an integrated Bysoft software module, provides automatic bend deductions, bend reliefs, bending sequences and back gauge placements for press brake users. With a 3D-simulation feature, visualization of the bending sequences as well as automatic collision detection is performed before the part is sent to the operator for processing, reducing set-up time and the need for test bending.

Bystronic Inc. is committed to providing customers with quality laser cutting, waterjet cutting and press brake systems, training and customer support for over 25 years.
